WHAT IS THE LOLER LIFTING ACCESSORY INSPECTION SCHEDULER?
Under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), all lifting equipment and lifting accessories must undergo periodic thorough examinations to ensure they remain safe for use. Regulation 9 sets out statutory maximum intervals — 6 months for lifting accessories and 12 months for other lifting equipment — unless an examination scheme specifies otherwise. Rather than manually tracking due dates across spreadsheets, our free LOLER Lifting Accessory Inspection Scheduler lets you quickly generate a thorough examination schedule for all your equipment. Simply add your lifting accessories and equipment, enter the date of the last thorough examination, and the tool calculates when each item is next due — no download required.
Disclaimer: This scheduler is provided as a guidance tool only and does not constitute professional safety advice. Results are based on the default statutory maximum intervals set out in Regulation 9(3) of LOLER 1998 for lifting equipment and lifting accessories. It does not account for examination schemes, equipment used for lifting persons (which may require 6-monthly examinations regardless of type), or other site-specific factors. A competent person should always be consulted when determining thorough examination intervals. Knox Thomas Ltd accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the use of this tool.
