GLOSSARY

EN ISO 13855

EN ISO 13855 sets where to position light curtains, scanners, mats and other protective devices, using human approach speed and the machine’s stopping time.

The logic is plain: the faster a person can approach and the longer the machine takes to stop, the further away the device has to sit. Skip the calculation and a light curtain becomes decoration.
