GLOSSARY

Declaration of Conformity

A Declaration of Conformity is the signed legal statement that a machine complies with every directive and regulation that applies to it.

It should identify the machine precisely, cite the correct legislation and standards, and be signed at senior level; it does not expire, and it is kept with the technical file for at least ten years after the last unit is placed on the market. Knox Thomas publishes free EU and UKCA declaration templates.
