GLOSSARY

Partly Completed Machinery

Partly completed machinery is equipment, such as a bare industrial robot, that only becomes a working machine once integrated into an installation.

It is supplied with a Declaration of Incorporation and assembly instructions, and carries no CE mark of its own; conformity of the finished machine rests with the integrator. That is the daily reality for robot cell integrators, and Knox Thomas runs a risk assessment service aimed squarely at them.
