GLOSSARY

Muting

Muting temporarily suspends a safety device so that a pallet can pass through a light curtain without stopping the line.

The muting logic has to tell material from people, run only while the load is passing, and restore protection immediately afterwards. Badly configured muting is one of the quickest ways to turn a protective device into a false sense of security.
